Breast Cancer Care fashion show
Congratulations to Sue Barnfield, Butterflies publicity officer, who received news today that she has been selected to model in this years national Breast Cancer Care's fashion show in London this October. Competition is hot for a chance to take part in this event.

Daily Mail article
On the 26th February the Royal College of Surgeons issued a report stating that in the last 10 years statistics showed that ladies being offered immediate reconstruction following a breast cancer diagnosis had gone from 6% to 11%, and questioning why so few were being offered surgery. The Daily Mail ran an article in its Good Health suplement to accompany the announcement which featured Jean Pearce, on of Butterflies members, and Guy Sterne, consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at City Hospital Birmingam. The article can be read on the Daily Mail Website and attracted a great deal of interest in the Butterflies website.

Tuesday 26th March 2007:
Bromsgrove Lions today announced that they will provide ongoing sponsorship to Butterflies to enable the role of Patient Advisor to continue in reconstruction clinics at city Hospital, Birmingham, A cheque for £1000 was presented by Lions President, Bob Wilkes.

Butterflies are now able to fund a patient adviser who will work in clinic along side the surgeons and clinical teams at City Hospital Birmingam.

BBC Midlands Today
On 20th October 2006 Sue Troth appeared on BBC Midlands Today in a short piece concluding their week of Breast Cancer features. Fridays strand was themed 'Life after Breast Cancer' and featured women who have made positive changes to their lives to prove that life goes on after a breast cancer diagnosis. BBC currently have the piece available for viewing on their website (RealPlayer format).

Race For Life 2006
On 23rd July 2006 a combined group of around 20 ladies representing Butterflies and Bosom Pals took part in the 2006 Race For Life in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. A thoroughly enjoyable day which raised a large amount of money for Cancer Research UK. See images for photos of the event.

Breast Cancer Care's 2005 Fashion Show
Following the success of our local Butterflies Fashion Show, Model Foong Kwai Aw was selected to take part in this years Breast Cancer Care's Fashion Show held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. The Event was hosted by Natsha Kaplinsky. Other celebrity guests included Cherie Booth, Opera star Katherine Jenkins, Hairdresser to the stars, Nicky Clarke, actress Michelle Collins and Judith Chalmers. See images for photos of the evening.
